Decrease in Average Premium Costs Expected in Arizona
According to the Arizona PIRG Education Fund, 8 out of 10 Arizonans buying through the Health Insurance Marketplace currently receive financial assistance and eight in 10 shoppers in the Health Insurance Marketplace can qualify for a plan for $100/month or less. Arizona is one of the few states expected to see a decrease in average premium costs during the Affordable Care Act open enrollment period.
In addition, thousands of Arizonans are eligible for no-cost coverage through AHCCCS (Medicaid), yet remain uninsured. You don’t know what you may be eligible for or what your costs will be until you take the time to apply.

8 out 10 Arizonans Receive Assistance Through ACA
This open enrollment period is the only time to go to the Health Insurance Marketplace to purchase health insurance, apply for financial assistance or switch your current plan. Many who could be eligible for free or reduced-cost health insurance instead pay a fine every year for not having insurance at all.
With less time than previous years, we encourage consumers to enroll in health insurance as soon as possible. If you begin enrolling now instead of waiting until the December 15 deadline approaches, you can avoid the last minute rush.
