Why Immunize?

When you choose to vaccinate yourself and your family, you get the best protection against dangerous diseases and you do your part to keep your community healthy and strong.

Measles

Measles is one of the most contagious diseases known to humans. Every year, unvaccinated travelers (Americans or foreign visitors) get measles while they are in other countries and bring measles with them into the U.S. They then spread the disease to other people who are not protected against measles. Outbreaks usually occur in communities with groups of unvaccinated people.

Human Papillomavirus (HPV)

Although not usually referred to as an outbreak, HPV is so common that most people – about 1 in 4 – will get an HPV infection at some point in their lives. Nearly 80 million people in the U.S. have already gotten HPV and about 14 million people in the U.S., including teens, become infected with HPV each year. The CDC recommends that all children 11-12 years old get 2 doses of HPV vaccine.
