Meet Our Board of Directors

Canyonlands Healthcare is governed by a consumer/community driven board which represents the diverse patient population served by Canyonlands Healthcare.

The board of directors is governed by its bylaws which are strongly based on guidance provided by the Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC). One of the key requirements of a Community Health Center board of directors is that 51% must be active users of the services provided by the organization.

All board members are expected to participate on board committees and attend regularly scheduled meetings. Committee structure is outlined in the board bylaws and includes the following:

The Canyonlands Board of Directors Work Actively To:

FSHCAA Deemed Health CenterCommunity Health CenterCanyonlands Healthcare has been designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and as such is supported by federal grants under the U.S. Public Health Service Act. We offer special programs designed to improve access to care for those who face financial barriers and need assistance.

Canyonlands Healthcare is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n). As such, malpractice insurance coverage is provided through the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) for all Canyonlands providers and locations.
